I had blogged some years back, and I gave up after some posts.

I was lacked of motivation, and inspiration, and technology has not allow me to post as and when I wanted.

But things have changed today.

Blogging can be done, at any place, any time - at the comfort of the house, in the toilet, on the bus, during lectures, etc.... as long as there are internet collection.

But I still faced some obstacles during blogging - uploading of picture to each post.

I had tried to using Flickr to upload my blog post as the pictures for both sides are inter-connected. Flickr was a better option when it comes to picture resolution. The down side for this is that I have to first upload my picture to Flickr, and from there, i will do up my blog post.

Feeling that is method requires more time and effort, I change my blogging method to using iPhone apps.

It was easy - I can do it any time when I am free - but the resolution for the uploaded picture wasn't what I expected. - FAILED experience.

So I am very much back to Square One now.

I got this book, The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, from an ex-colleague during our Christmas gift exchange.

It was a hard-read at first, but as time goes on, I seems to enjoy the story.

It is a thin book, but I am taking ages to read it - I'm a slow reader I admit.

Hipstamatic is smart at times!
With the Random Shake function, it is able to generate a lens+film set that suit the situation.

Using this image for example: my intention is to snap on the couple that walk into my frame; Hipstamatic can sense my intention - and it (Hipstamatic) helps enhance the picture using Roboto Glitter lens (that has a "focus" effect) & Claunch 72 Monochrome film (black white film suitable for street shots).

It's been a busy day; a change of counter makes me has exhausted me while I struggle betwee a "new" environment and working on a new sets of duties.
I do enjoy this arrangement of job-rotation as I'm able to refresh what I had learnt previously.
Craving for Long John Silver for dinner. I had to abandon ship (leaving office early) to be the last few customers for LJS before the outlet closed.
The place reminds me of any Americans cafe where you will find some friendly service and a small window peeping into the kitchen.

I'm a leather (cover) notebook collector, and have collected some of the interesting leather-cover notebooks that I chanced upon. I had shared some of my photos and reviews of those notebook my Flickr page.

Today, I received a Pelle Journal in my mail box, courtesy of Andy (thank you, Andy).
I wil be spending sometimes using this new Notebook, and will soon get back to Andy about my experience with his journal.

This morning, I chanced upon the term CrossFit (read from SealFit site). So i decided to spend some time to check out whats available in Singapore.
Starting from this year (2012), I have kicked off some vice, and my workout to maintain my machine (a term that I used to describe my body). All this while, I've been looking for a place where I can train up my machine in a more demanding manner, and I guess, CrossFit came at the right time.

I have found 2 centers providing CrossFit training in Singapore:
1) Crossfit Singapore
2) Singapore Crossfit Hub

Seriously, both centers look good - and both have their own plus points.

The only factor that I faced in stepping into CrossFit community is the time commitment on hand.
I will need to work out my schedule around the available training time.

Green Apple has a lot of benefits; It has been a well-known facts, but how many of us are having green apple everyday?

I have always preferred Red apple compare to green apple, but after some recent readings, i've decided to do a switch.

Extracted from SweetAddition.net - Green Apple Fruit Benefits:

Green apples are good source of dietary fiber which helps in regulating bowel movements and so improves digestive property. Ultimately, it reduces the risk of colon cancer.

The fiber content of apples helps in decreasing cholesterol levels in the body.

Daily intake of apple reduces the risk of skin diseases.

Consuming apples prevent digestive and liver problems. Eat a green apple after a non vegetarian meal for easy digestion.

Also, it contains a number of antioxidant such as polyphenol and flavonoid that decrease the risk of development of cancer by preventing DNA damage.

Green apples contain malic and tartaric acids which neutralize indigestion, hence preventing constipation and diarrhea.

As a source of pectin, protein, calcium, carbohydrates, sodium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, zinc and iron, green apples also help to purify blood, stop bleeding, clear gout and rheumatism, prevent gallstones, maintain cleanliness of the teeth, and enhance memory.

It does not contain any cholesterol so helpful for people who are trying to decrease their weight.

Apples can boost appetite with its secretion of organic acid to regulate intestinal peristalsis.

On concerning to beauty, green apples are rich source of vitamins A, B and C and have nourishing and whitening effects on the skin.

I am a huge coffee addict, and I will be cutting down on my coffee intake, due to a couple of factors:

1) Cost - Being a regular customer at a coffee outlet, the price of coffee seems to increase unexpectedly. It could be the yield for profit margin that cause the chain to increase the cost, but they will lost some over this period - Alternative Replacement.

2) High sugar level - Sugar gives me energy, but too much of it make me sick. Some coffee are just too sweet for me. I prefer a hot long black - but I hardly can have one unless its my off day.

3) Tea - According to The Benefits of Tea, one can gain so much with just a cup of Tea, just to name 1 - it helps in lowering the risk of Heart Disease, that runs in my family.

My Life after 26.

I have chosen this Hipstamatic shot with the combination of Roboto Glitter and Claunch 72 Monochrome because of the focus, light-ray and the vignetting effects.

The Black and White effect has simply make the picture calm, despite what was written.

The Starbucks logo (new logo) blend in well in this picture.

All goes well with the new update for Hipstamatic 235.
The new included function (The Favorite) allows me to choose the setting i need for the required shots.
It actually helps to save time in choosing the preferred lens and film for a particular shot; all is done within 1 click and a few slides.

A new found friend: Kimberly-Clark.
Met Kimberly in 2010 when I first join the company (so i thought, just a normal toilet roll dispenser).
"Her" duty is to dispense toilet roll (obvious);
But it was only during lunch time (on 27012012) when i realized that she has been quietly spending my lunch-(half-an)-hour with me for the past days-months-years - listening to me thinking-aloud to myself.

Hipstamatic 235 - View Finder Zoom

With the improvement of Hipstamatic 235, it now include the auto-focus function; and this has certainly expand our photography experience.

Rather than trying hard to focus on a smaller object with the small view finder, now, we can have a closer look with the zoom-in function.

To zoom-in, just double-tap on the screen, and your view finder will expand.

Below is an example of zoom-in view finder.

With one (more) tap on the screen, Hipstamatic will capture the image in the view finder.

The tricky part with my experience in the zoom-in view finder is that, my hand tends to shake a little while cause the image in the view finder to sway from side to side (slightly, depending on how shaky your hand could be).

One of the improvement that I like about Hipstamatic 235 is that it allows Auto-Focus.
With the double-tap to "enlarge" the view finder, and one more tap to snap the picture, it has actually makes Hipstamatic friendlier.

Hipstamatic 235 - WINDING FILM ROLL no more

Frustration is finally over.

With the new Hipstamatic 235(link to lifeinlofi.com), I haven't faced any crashing issue ever since.

I am pretty satisfy with the performance for now (am still an iPhone 3GS user).

I'm back as a Happy Hipstamatic user again !!

Auto-focus failed. I still find it hard to stop, paused, and snap at a stranger.
I have always wanted to work on my Street Photography - to capture the moment on the street; but i always have the fear in me ~ worry that my subject will know I am taking a picture of them.

I know a few street photographer in the iPhone photography community, and one of them is Aik Beng Chia (from Singapore). His work has always amazed me! He has no problems getting his strangers to be his subject for his photography work and his work has motivated many iPhone photographers to try out Street Photography.

And talking about Street Photography, the one photographer that I admired the most will be Henri Cartier-Bresson, the Father of modern photojournalism. I first saw his work during a photography course, and his work, Behind the Gare Saint-Lazare, 1932, leave a deep impression in my mind.

With the little time on hand, I had a little explore on the New Hipstamatic 235.

I like the part where they have included "Favorites" in the apps;

This means that you can deploy your favor sets of lens and film when the situations that call for them.

The Original is pre-set in the favorites.

On the top Right Hand corner, where you see the "+" sign.

Click on that, and you will be able to select:
(1) lens,
(2) film,
(3) flash, and even
(4) CASE
that you prefer. (Refer to below)

Choices in New Favorites

The Little Star

Click on the Little Star to allow you to add the current lens / film / flash / case into the Favorites.

All for now.. the next will be on the stability performance for Hipstamatic!

GUESS WHAT? The Hipstamatic 235 is officially approved and is currently processing for the App Store! It should start rolling out for users over the next couple hours. Here are the detailed and exciting new features!

NEW FEATURES
• Favorites - Save lens/flash/film combos for quick and easy access from the camera back (access by tapping the new star icon on the camera back)
• Tap and hold to focus (when zoomed in to viewfinder on a device that supports focusing - currently iPhone 3GS / 4 / 4S) This features focuses on what you tapped on, and gives the rest of the image a nice soft blurriness. OH SNAP.

BUG FIXES / PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS
- New HipstaSave technology to recover any prints that weren't finished processing in the event of an app crash

Photography using iPhone has evolved from a passion, to a challenge.
The evolution of mobile photography has grow too fast till a point where almost everyone can edit a simple picture to a award-winning shot.

Still, I stick to Hipstamatic (or perhaps I am just too lazy to work on any editing).
Beside taking picture, I have AIM to share my pictures with the World.
As of now, I am thinking of various projects to spice up my Hipstamatic moments.

As much as I like Hipstamatic, but there are some lens that I have a love-hate relationship..
For example: Salvador 84.

This shot was taken while i was on the upper deck of the bus. Seeing a lady walking down the stairs on my side, i positioned my iPhone so as to capture the descending moment. But the wrong lens used distort the picture.

Yesterday, a Stop-Motion iPhone Film Shot using Hipstamatic

I chance upon Yesterday from Hipstamatic Facebook group.
It is a 3 minute and 29 seconds Stop-Motion film that made entirely out of Hipstamatic shots!
It has actually amazed me on how many shots he has taken to do up the entire film - it seems like Vitùc has endless snapping with his Hipstamtic camera.

It's quite a bit of challenging snapping a fish (swimming around in the tank) with iPhone Hipstamatic.
For this fish shot, I have taken about 10 shots, with random-shake, therefore, I have no idea what is the outcome for the next print.
But this is the fun part of Hipstamatic photography.

And for me, an iPhone 3GS.
I still love my iPhone 3GS even though the performance is not much faster than what "juniors" are, but it still feels good in my hand.

The Return of the Hipstamatic Project

I have started a Hipstamatic Project back in Year 2010, with the intention of sharing the 5000 Hipstamatic shots that I have taken. But after uploaded 100 photos, I stopped. Somewhere, somehow, I lost the inspiration. I stopped on the project. And partly, it was also due to the hugh number of platforms that I can share my photos - Flickr, Instagram, etc...

Starting of this year, 2012, i started the Hipstamatic Project again, namely - Hipstamatic'12.
I first upload and share my pictures on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/koalazymonkey/), and today, I have decided to dig out my "old blog", and revamp the "whole thing"!

Introduction

There is this guy, who has been doing iPhone photography ever since he got his iPhone in Nov 2008..

After 2 years of snapping, aimlessly, he started to create a passion for aimless-snapping.

Hipstamatic is (and still is) one of his favorite application on his iPhone.

In 2010, after seeing a post on his facebook, a friend was seeking advises on "how to take better Hipstamatic photos?". This topic set this guy into thinking.. how? how? how? how? how?

His reply, "You have to keep doing it until you are used to the "weapon."

So, this guy set off a journey, on a 5000 HIPSTAMATIC SHOTS PROJECT.
